Search Engine Marketing – Four Great Backlink Suggestions

Jason Nyback asked:

Building inbound links is the number one priority of search engine optimizers seeking to improve their rankings in the search engine results page. With more and more sites adding “no-follow” language to links, finding quality places to post backlinks to your site has become a challenge. Below are four great ways to create valuable inbound links.

1. Press Release Distribution

Submitting a press release to a press release distribution site such as PRWeb or PRlog is a great way to build inbound links and drive direct traffic to a web page. While some sites, such as PRWeb, charge a fee for their services, many free distribution services also exist. Make certain the distribution service allows you to include a link with the press release, as some free services do not allow links.

2. Squidoo.com

Squidoo.com allows people to create “lenses” focused on almost any topic about which they are knowledgeable. Each lens is can contain links to related resources, including the author’s website.

3. HubPages.com

Hubpages.com is another user-driven site where members can create mini websites about their field of expertise. Authors are allowed to include related links as reference. If the article posted on HubPages is keyword optimized for your target keywords, the link can significant weight with the search engines.

4. Yahoo!/Wiki Answers

Another search engine favorite! Answer a question on either of these popular Q and A sites, then list your website as a reference. Instant backlink! Yahoo! Answers is especially effective, because the links on the site have a great deal of clout with the Yahoo! search engine.
